“A film about dance realized by a dancer!”

’spaces of otherness‘ documents five weeks of collaborative work and rehearsals leading up to the opening night of a new dance production, it presents the intensive creative process of American choreographer Amanda Miller in her work with the dancers of Düsseldorf Opera Ballet and investigates the full commitment and the delicate relationship between artists in the act of creation.

It offers a singular perspective on experiencing contemporary dance and its practice, merging performing arts and cinematic aesthetics, looks at the creation frame as a heterotopic space, a space of otherness.
